The Hedera Foundation partners with Phi Pi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to deliver community service programs that support quality of life improvement for the disadvantaged and provide financial assist to individuals and families in our community, which enhance education, family, health, economic empowerment and the arts.
The foundation will continue its focus on education by assisting high school students in reaching their maximum potential through providing guidance and support in completing college applications, offering scholarships, mentorship programs and supporting HBCUs.
Health & Wellness
The foundation will continue to raise community awareness of critical health issues impacting African-American women. The primary focuses will be breast cancer awareness and prevention, heart health, nutrition and wellness, and care for the caregivers.
The foundation will emphasize financial planning, asset accumulation, and wealth building including savings and investments, managing debt, and improving credit.
The foundation will expose students to arts enrichment and culture by focusing on visual and performing arts and by showcasing talent through the exploration of writers, entertainers and various other artists.
The foundation will engage in programming designed to enhance the international footprint of Alpha Kappa Alpha, as well as community service projects that has an international impact and will partner with organizations that make a difference worldwide.
