The Debutante Cotillion Program of The Hedera Foundation, Incorporated is our signature program, which is held on an annual basis as a formal presentation of young high school women at the threshold of adulthood as our future leaders. The program provides an opportunity for the participants to earn a scholarship for college. In addition, elementary and middle school boys and girls are incorporated into this program as an enrichment opportunity for them.
The program extends over a six (6) month period beginning in April and culminating in an elegant formal ball where the Debutantes are presented to society. Program participants will engage in workshops and activities that will build self-esteem and focus on leadership skills, social graces, community service, cultural awareness and educational enrichment. The program also encourages high scholastic achievement, good moral character, and offers the opportunity for these individuals to strengthen friendship bonds and family relationships.
- To promote high ideals and character building by encouraging their participation in workshops and activities that is geared towards enhancing life skills, confidence building and college preparation;
- To enhance social skills by encouraging new and lasting friendships, as well as strengthen family relationships;
- To participate in community service projects and to learn how their contributions impact those they may serve in the community;
